I can't wait to get some numbers!
@joe The Peace Bridge was certainly on the minds of Ward 7 voters. It's a complex issue touching on sole sourcing, need for infrastructure and spending of tax payer dollars. Although all the money came from the Province through the Municipal Sustainability Initiative which is linked to oil royalties - although not exclusively.
@Randy None of the candidates talked about privatizing garbage collection. The winners are going to need to find savings for sure. I doubt garbage collection will be on the chopping block as the city is currently investing in newer, less expensive to operate trucks that can be used for recycling and garbage collection. To privatize at this point would not make much sense.
Originally I guessed we'd see a voter turnout of 41%. Two weeks ago I revised that to 47%. I'm thinking now, from what we're hearing, we could be over 50%. That's more than any election in 30 years. (City doesn't have records handy from before that because they'd have to into the Archives!)

I agree with David Taras that many will be looking to have the polls open earlier in 2013.
@Phil Viger - yes 11 o'clock news for sure.
