@Desmond, Nenshi also said that selling ENMAX was not a good idea however, as an advocate for tax payer he did have concern over accrued debt within the organization which he didn't want the "tax-payer to be on the hook for".

Was great at my polling station in Bowness. I was in and out within 10 minutes. No line ups for me.

Ours was awful, one line up to get your card and another line to get your ballots. Should have done both tasks at same time. Volunteers were slow to add help where needed. Door greeters didn't tell people where to go. Just a mess.

I just want to say, with the comments on the Social Media, for some young people that I have talked with, including myself, none really cared much of if any of the canaidates knew how to use facebook or twitter. We cared about the issues, NOT the fact that they had so many friends on facebook. Go McIver

Gender, race and religion, are completely irrelevant to Calgarians and the poles are showing it. This is a merit based mayoral race and that what makes it exciting. Voters are for the majority ditching biases and making informed decisions.

@Smith Person: Naheed did an excellent job getting his message out over Facebook, so it was really a bonus. Not a deal breaker, but really I think it had a lot to do with the candidates' websites and how they showed the platforms. Researching this year was very easy.

Ric's numbers have been consistent and should be expected to hold as he represents the status quo, the question is does the political climate foster change or the status quo?

This is the first time, since turning 18, that I have voted. I never took the time to read the candidates platforms. After reading about the candidates and learning more about who they are and what they stand for the only logical choice for change was Nenshi.

CTV is predicting Naheed as a winner.... isn't a little early yet. I hope he does but with the voter turnout it could still be very up in the air.

@Michelle & Cam Nothing happens. They count just like if they hadn't conceded (you can't remove yourself as a candidate after 24 hours past the nomination deadline)

I'm only 17 and im looking forward to voting next year. I personally have followed the campaigns and I think it was a stoke of genius on Nenshi's part to focus on the younger generation of new and undecided voters to get on his side rather than have them be more passive in this election and not vote. This seems to be the norm for most new adults so kudos to him

Nenshi did well in targetting the right demographic population!!!! Youth between 18 to 35 who were the most apathetic in elections...... The youthful group helped created this result!!! In come the new Calgary...

Naheed mentored 2 of our sons at the U.of C. in the ICBC program. who are both overseas as Investment Bankers.He is and was by far the best choice to run our city.Congrads. you deserve it.
